Enjoy a light hike to the 1,600-meter (5,250-foot) Chanokidaira lookout point in the hills behind the hotel. Your reward is a spectacular view of Mount Nantai.

Morning Temple Walk
Start your day with a lakeside walk to Chuzenji Temple, whose history stretches back to 784. The round-trip route is just three kilometers (1.9 miles), and can include entry into some of the halls to see an acclaimed dragon painting, statues of the five wisdom kings, and the principal object of worship—an eleven-faced, thousand-armed statue of the bodhisattva Kannon said to have been carved by the temple’s founder.
