TableCheck launches “Contactless pay” to help restaurants fight COVID-19
Japan diners go “Contactless” to pay their restaurant bills while maintaining social distancing.
TOKYO, Japan – TableCheck Inc. (“TableCheck”), Japan and Asia’s leading online restaurant reservation and guest management platform, has launched “Contactless Pay”, a new payment service designed to help restaurants combat the spread of the novel coronavirus.
TableCheck’s new “Contactless Pay” is a smarter and safer way for diners to pay restaurant bills during COVID-19
Diners enter their credit card information while booking their reservation
No physical contact, cards, or pens required at the restaurant while making payment
Additional orders made at-restaurant can also be charged
Receipts will automatically be issued online
On August 3, 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, TableCheck has launched "Contactless Pay", an innovative new cashless online payment service to help restaurants overcome challenges around diner safety. When booking online reservations on TableCheck’s platform, diners are now able to register their credit card information at time of booking. The stored card will then automatically be used to pay the diner’s bill when they finish their meal at the restaurant. All charges, including additional orders placed at the restaurant on the day of dining, will be charged to the credit card provided. Diners may additionally download their receipt online in a printable format ready for corporate expenses.
Contactless Pay complements and integrates TableCheck’s existing payment-related services including “Cancel Protection,” in which restaurants may require diners to register their credit card and collect a fee in the event of cancellation or no-show. For guests who book their reservations by phone, TableCheck even allows restaurants request card registration by sending the guest a weblink via a text message.
*At this stage, it is only available in Japan.
